Main screen - GAME mode

This is the main stats view screen (see image at right side of page). This is the screen that comes up when the application is launched. If stats collection is not already in progress (from a previously exited application use), then this is the screen that will be seen (ie: with 0 counts). When the application is in 'GAME' mode, the words at the top of the baseball will be red and when the game is in 'PITCHER' mode, the words at the top of the baseball will be blue. Increasing the count via BALL or STRIKE increments the stats for both the game and the pitcher (Decrementing the stats only decrements for the exact stat that was selected.)

Addressing some of the feedback at the itunes store, and email:

The application has a small target audience (although in the video, it sounds like it's targeting small people...). Basically, how many coaches also have an iPhone? Well, at least one (and, no, this app wasn't written specifically for Joe Torre).

Seriously, the flashlight is no joke (see the FAQ). What's it for? Well, when it's dark, a light can help illuminate things. Judging by how many flashlght apps are available for the iPhone, it seems like quite the desirable feature, so whether it's night games, dark dugouts, or any other time of darkness, application owners now have a baseball themed flashlight to fend off the darkness.

The main stats screen was designed to not have random actions occur, this is why it takes a double tap or a swipe to change from the main screen. The phone can be held in either the right or left hand and the thumb can be used to press the buttons. If the "home" button gets pressed accidently, then the devince may be turned upside down to move the "home" button to the top.

Updates will happen if there are features (or bug fixes) that will enhance the application without making it become complicated. The app wasn't intended to record all stats or even try to, but I may expand some of its features with an update

FAQ

Q0-1: Is the flashlight a joke?

A: No. You know, night games, dark dugouts, etc. I think all iPhone apps should have a free flashlight app.

Q0-2: What's with the strange reviews?

A: The whole review comments and rating system is kind of a free-for-all right now (08/08/08). It seems it's possible to come back later and change just about anything with a review, the stars, title and even all of the text. I did put in my own review to address some reviews, but then those reviews changed again, so I changed my review to simply say view the video and judge for yourself. I am not trying to influence the rating with my 5 star "self" review. With so few reviews, they don't really mean much statistically. Please view the video and judge for yourself if the application is something that would be useful for you or not -- before you purchase. Thank you!
